4) Conclusion: Francis A. Countway Library of Medicine

My reflection of this incredible journey leaves me breathless. I knew embarking into this academic enriched arena would be vast, but with the hospitals they service, and its rich cultural obligations it was simply amazing. The grandiose columns of the Harvard Medical School as you step onto the lush green lawn of the quadrangle remind me that knowledge, and the quest for it is there for everyone.  The image below struck me as ironic. The sunlight is illuminating the library even though it is not center stage. I can only believe John Harvard had a vision when he started the first library. The library is the backbone of the institution which sprung from it.

                                                          THANK YOU

Dear Dr. Osterbur,
Please accept my deepest appreciation for sharing your time, and meeting with me on October 19th.  The Francis A. Countway Library of Medicine is an amazing place with so much to explore, it goes far beyond my imagination. Your knowledge and advice has enabled me to at least start absorbing the immense amount of information contained within its walls.  You have reinforced my dream to work in a library someday.

Thank You

Sincerely,

Marianne Hughes
